House Call Service

At "The Vet Centre", we understand that taking your pet to the vet is sometimes not possible, or a very stressful experience, so we offer a house call Service, where we come to you at your home, stables or farm.

We are happy to call for any routine matter, the main difference in price is a travel charge. To minimize travel charges we try to book clients into a run of calls. This allows us to share travel costs between you and others. For this reason, we require 24hrs notice if you wish to cancel or postpone an appointment as it affects travel charges for others. As house calls can sometimes go for 20 minutes or 1 hour, or the vet is taken in a different direction due to an emergency, the time we give you will only be an approximate one. Usually the vet needs to bring a nurse if blood is to be collected, you need help handling an uncooperative animal, or if euthanasia is to be performed at home.

Please advise us if you think we need to bring a nurse when you make your appointment. Some cases may still need to be brought back to the clinic (eg. If x-rays are required or surgery is needed). We can arrange pick up/drop off from your home if required for a moderate "animal transport fee". For horse clients we may be able to help arrange transport of your horse to our Pakenham Clinic via our own horse truck or through our contacts with horse transport companies.

Our Vets carry a mobile EFTPOS termainal so payment by Credit Card, Savings or Cheque account can be made.
